It wasn’t quite the outing that the Moose Jaw Miller Express were hoping to open a two-game series against the Bombers in Brooks on Wednesday.

A late charge from the Bombers resulted in a 13-4 win over the Miller Express.

The Miller Express got on the board in the top of the first when Nate Mensik’s single scored Darren Hagan.

Brooks replied back in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs to take a 2-1 lead. The Bombers would then extend their lead with two more runs in the bottom of the third.

Moose Jaw made it a one-run game in the top of the sixth. Mensik and Elijah Bear slugged back-to-back homeruns to make it 4-3 for Brooks.

Brooks added a run in the bottom of the sixth and the wheels fell off for the Miller Express in the latter half of the game.

Moose Jaw relinquished three runs in the bottom of the seventh. After scoring a run to open the eighth inning, Brooks came back with five runs to put the game away.

Matt Vasquez went five inning on the mound for the Miller Express, allowing five hits, four runs and four strikeouts in the loss.

The Miller Express wrap up the two-game set in Brooks on Thursday night.
