Moose Jaw’s bats and the bullpen came in clutch for the Miller Express on Tuesday night, which helped them roll to a 15-7 win over the Brooks Bombers.

Eight Miller Express players had one or more hits and combined for 14 on Tuesday night.

Jake King was solid on the mound picking up the win, allowing only two runs on three hits while striking out three.

In addition, the Moose Jaw bullpen would shut out Brooks in the final five innings.

Austin Gurney has a night to remember picking up 4 RBIs and a home run while going 2-for-4 at the plate.

Both teams would score a pair of runs in the first inning to be deadlocked at 2-2.

In the third inning, Brooks would take their first lead of the ball game with a three-run, third inning to take a 5-2 lead.

Moose Jaw would respond in the top of the fourth though. After a pair of walks and a single to start the inning, Moose Jaw would load the bases. Julio Acosta would score following a wild pitch to cut the lead to 5-3.

With the bases still loaded, Dawson Tweet would hit into a fielder’s choice, which would score Cristian Yanez from third.

Austin Gurney would drive home a pair of runs with a two-out single to complete the four-run inning.

The Bombers would retake the lead, after a two-run inning of their own, and go into the top of the fifth inning holding a 7-6 lead.

From the fifth inning on, it was all Moose Jaw, as they would pick up a combined nine runs and shut out the Bombers in the final five innings to win 15-7.

The win improves their record to 12-7 on the season. They remain in first place in the Western Canadian Baseball League’s East Division, with a two-and-a-half-game lead over the Regina Red Sox.

Moose Jaw will wrap up their six-game Alberta road swing on Wednesday night against the Brooks Bombers at 7:05 p.m.

The Miller Express will return home on Friday, as they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks at Ross Wells Park.
