Make it nine in a row for the Moose Jaw Miller Express, as they pulled out the 6-4 win over the Okotoks Dawgs on Tuesday night at Seaman Stadium.
The win was their third straight against the Dawgs and improved their record to 24-10.
Okotoks would get out to the early 4-0 lead in the fourth inning, but Moose Jaw would fight back in the fifth.
Four doubles in the inning would score four runs with Wyatt Tweet, Dougie Delacruz, Luke LaChance, and Bobby Pokorney all crossing the plate and the game was tied 4-4.
Two innings later Moose Jaw would put the game away with a two-run inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, Austin Gurney would blast a single to bring home Nate Mensik and Luke LaChance to give the Miller Express the 6-4 lead.
Haldon Craig would pick up his third win of the season, pitching four scoreless innings, giving up only allowing one hit, while striking out four. Zach Sigmon, Jake King, and starter Kellan Voggesser all made appearances on the mound.
Luke LaChance was the big hitter for Moose Jaw with a 3-for-4 night at the plate, scoring two runs. Dougie Delacruz, Wyatt Tweet, and Bobby Pokorney all had two hits apiece in the win.
Dawson Tweet picked up a single in the fourth inning to extend his hitting streak to 33 games.
With Regina losing to Weyburn on Tuesday, Moose Jaw’s lead extended to 8.5 games over the Red Sox in the Western Canadian Baseball League’s East Division.
Moose Jaw will look to make it 10 in a row on Wednesday, as they wrap up their two-game series with the Dawgs. The first pitch is 7:05 p.m.
