The Moose Jaw Miller Express return to Ross Wells Park tonight looking to build on a strong start to the 2026 WCBL season as they host the Swift Current 57’s at 7:05 PM.
Offensively, the Miller Express have been one of the league’s most productive teams through their first eight games, posting a .301 team batting average while scoring 65 runs. The lineup has been led by Thomas Soto, who is hitting .345 with 11 runs scored, while Chris Franks has driven in a team-leading 12 runs and added a home run. Michael Rago has also been a key contributor, batting .400 with six RBIs, while Jacob Mraz continues to spark the offense with a .400 average and three stolen bases.
The Miller Express will look to continue applying pressure on the bases, having already stolen 27 bases this season. Their ability to create offense through speed and timely hitting has been a major factor in their early success.
Swift Current enters the matchup with several dangerous bats of their own. Jake Hiromoto has been one of the WCBL’s hottest hitters, batting .378 with four home runs and 12 RBIs. Lucas Geisler is hitting .357 and owns an impressive .514 on-base percentage, while Keagan Knowler has provided power with three home runs and a 1.056 OPS.
On the mound, Moose Jaw has received strong performances from Weston Walls, who owns a 1.29 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 14 innings, and Jordan Bauer, who has yet to allow an earned run this season. Nathan Pisio has also been effective out of the bullpen, recording a save while striking out six batters in just over five innings of work.
The 57’s pitching staff has been anchored by Koufax Cranmer (2.13 ERA) and Zachary Desylva (2.77 ERA), but overall Swift Current has struggled to prevent runs, creating an opportunity for the Miller Express offense to continue its hot start.
Tonight’s matchup features two teams capable of putting runs on the board, but Moose Jaw’s balanced lineup, aggressive baserunning, and home-field advantage could prove to be the difference. Fans can expect an exciting WCBL showdown as these longtime Saskatchewan rivals meet once again under the lights at Ross Wells Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM with tonight’s game sponsored by Culligan Water.
