The Moose Jaw Miller Express wrap up their four-game homestand on Friday night with one goal in mind — keep the momentum rolling and send the home crowd home happy.
The Express welcome the Energy City Cactus Rats to Ross Wells Park for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch, closing out a two-game series before heading back on the road.
Moose Jaw enters the contest with one of the most dangerous offenses in the Western Canadian Baseball League, batting .318 as a team with 414 hits, 348 runs scored, 72 doubles, 25 home runs, and 103 stolen bases through 40 games.
Leading the offensive charge has been Thomas Soto, who is hitting .348 while leading the club with 55 hits, 53 runs scored, and 38 stolen bases. Chris Franks continues to be a consistent run producer with a .367 batting average, 51 hits, and 41 RBIs, while William Edwards is batting .333 with 38 RBIs. Behind the plate, Garryn Plummer has been outstanding, hitting .371 with 39 hits, 37 RBIs, and four home runs.
The Cactus Rats feature several dangerous hitters of their own. Rogan Rivard enters the game batting .421, while Luke Wilson (.353), Kaidan Baron (.322), and Steven Fermin (.303) headline an improving Energy City lineup.
More Than Just Baseball
Friday night’s game is also an opportunity for fans to make a difference in the community.
The Miller Express and Sentinel Storage are partnering with the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank for a special food drive. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to Ross Wells Park to support local families in need.
As an added bonus, every donation helps determine William Edwards’ walk-up song! The more food items collected, the more entertaining the options become, ranging from fan choice to classics like “Baby Shark” and “Barbie Girl.”
See You at the Ballpark!
Friday is your final chance to catch the Miller Express at home before they hit the road. Come out and cheer on the Express, support a great community cause, and enjoy another exciting night of WCBL baseball.
