The Moose Jaw Miller Express return home on Friday, July 3rd, for a big Western Canadian Baseball League doubleheader against the Saskatoon Berries at Ross Wells Park.

The twin bill will feature two seven-inning games, with Game 1 scheduled for 6:00 PM and Game 2 beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener. Fans will receive admission to both games with a single ticket purchase, making for a full evening of WCBL baseball in Moose Jaw.

The Miller Express enter the weekend looking to build momentum in the East Division race behind one of the league’s most productive offenses. Veteran outfielder Chris Franks continues to pace the club with a .322 batting average, 28 RBIs, and two home runs, while Australian outfielder William Edwards has contributed a .319 average and 25 RBIs. Middle infielder Ben Waliczek has been a sparkplug atop the lineup, hitting .316 with 15 stolen bases, and catcher Garryn Plummer is batting .345 with 15 RBIs.

On the mound, the Miller Express have been led by Weston Walls, who owns a 2-1 record while striking out 49 batters in 46? innings. Moose Jaw’s bullpen has also received strong performances from local product Nathan Pisio, who has recorded five saves with a stellar 2.45 ERA.

The visiting Saskatoon Berries arrive with one of the WCBL’s hottest offenses. Ethan Murdoch enters the series batting .426 with five home runs and 28 RBIs, while Gavin Panks (.403) and Gael Salinas (.402) have also been among the league’s top hitters this season.

The Berries’ pitching staff has been equally impressive, led by Tanner Hosick, who boasts a remarkable 0.68 ERA and five victories, along with Michael Sall, who carries a 1.29 ERA and a 4-0 record into the series.

Friday night will also feature Beer Batter pricing during both games, adding to what promises to be a festive atmosphere at Ross Wells Park.
