MOOSE JAW, SK – The Moose Jaw Miller Express return to Ross Wells Park tonight looking to build on Thursday’s dramatic 8-7 comeback victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks and continue their push toward the top of the Western Canadian Baseball League standings.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with Ultimate Fan Zone Moose Jaw serving as tonight’s Game Day Sponsor. Fans will also have the chance to take part in UFZ Jersey Night, where anyone wearing a baseball jersey will be entered for a chance to win a 2025 Miller Express Canada Day Jersey and a Toronto Blue Jays Anniversary Hat.

The Millers enter the contest riding plenty of momentum after erasing a late deficit Thursday night. Moose Jaw scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to stun the Mavericks, improving to 36 wins on the season and moving within striking distance of the franchise’s single-season wins record.

Offensively, the Miller Express continue to be one of the WCBL’s most dangerous clubs, batting .314 as a team with 512 hits, 441 runs scored, and 138 stolen bases this season.

Several Millers continue to rank among the league’s top hitters:

  • Eduardo Saenz leads the club with a .381 batting average, adding 35 RBIs.
  • Chris Franks has produced a stellar all-around season, hitting .358 with 50 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.
  • Garryn Plummer is batting .353 with 43 RBIs.
  • Thomas Soto, who recently became the Miller Express’ single-season stolen base record holder, is hitting .344, has scored 66 runs and now has 46 stolen bases.
  • William Edwards has added another consistent bat with a .330 average and 47 RBIs.

On the mound, the Millers have been led throughout the season by Weston Walls, who owns a 6-1 record, 84 strikeouts and a 3.50 ERA, while Jacob Glazener has recorded eight wins and Nathan Pisio has impressed with a 2.18 ERA in limited action.

Medicine Hat brings plenty of offensive firepower of its own. Carter Roth enters the game batting .344 with 21 doubles, while Frankie Giacalone leads the Mavericks with 11 home runs. Johnny Vulcano (.326) and Josh Stark (.311) also headline a dangerous lineup capable of producing runs in a hurry.

With the regular season entering its final stretch, every game carries playoff implications, and another victory tonight would further strengthen Moose Jaw’s position while keeping the pressure on the rest of the WCBL.
