MOOSE JAW, SK – The Moose Jaw Miller Express return to Ross Wells Park tonight for a key Western Canadian Baseball League doubleheader against the Weyburn Beavers as the East Division rivals meet in a pair of games with playoff positioning already beginning to take shape.
The Miller Express enter the day with a 6-4 record and plenty of momentum after an explosive offensive start to the season. Moose Jaw has scored 88 runs through its first 10 games while batting .295 as a team. The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 6:00 PM at Ross Wells Park, with Game 2 to follow approximately 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1.
Leading the offensive charge has been outfielder Chris Franks, who is hitting .400 with 14 hits, five doubles, two home runs and a team-leading 20 RBIs. Franks has been one of the hottest hitters in the WCBL and continues to be a key run producer in the middle of the Miller lineup.
The Miller Express have also received outstanding performances from Thomas Soto (.378), Jacob Mraz (.391), Ben Waliczek (.333) and Michael Rago (.333) as Moose Jaw continues to boast one of the league’s most productive offenses.
Fans can expect plenty of action as the Miller Express look to continue their strong start to the season against a division rival. With two games on the schedule and valuable standings points on the line, tonight promises to be an exciting evening of WCBL baseball in Moose Jaw.
