It is tough to be writing this message already – but that’s baseball! Though we fell short of a WCBL Championship and could not bring a championship back to Moose Jaw, there is lots to be grateful for on and off the field.
The Moose Jaw Miller Express had a franchise regular season record of 41-15, Westin Walls became the new WCBL Single Season Strikeout Leader, Thomas Soto became the new WCBL Single Season Stolen Bases Leader and broke his own Single Season Runs record. Thank you to all our players for believing in our organization and giving us your summer. You were so much fun to watch. You are all very talented ballplayers and thank you for entertaining us with your versions of singing, dancing, and pre-game post-game interviews.
A huge thank you to our coaches – Head Coach Michael Gonzalez, Pitching Coach Geoff Freeborn, and Assistant Coach Michael Hunt. Your time, dedication, and vision to continue to build a winning culture is greatly appreciated.
Off the field, there are so many things to be thankful for.
Thank you to our Fans. From season ticket holders, billet families, player families from across North America and Australia, friends, and the ones that came for the first time in years to Ross Wells – we appreciate your tremendous support. Thank you to all who came out at our last home game to break a franchise record of 1,025 fans!
Thank you to Alex Carleton – Crushed Can and his staff for handling our concession and serving us great food quickly and always with a smile.
Thank you to our volunteers and staff. Your time, hard work, and generous support make a difference every single game.
Thank you to our billet families. Thank you for opening your homes and hearts to our players. Thank you for the meals, the late nights and early mornings, the water bills, cheering from the stands and creating lifelong memories and relationships. Thank you to the City of Moose Jaw for continuing to work with us, your improvements to Ross Wells Park – new netting and new washrooms starting September 2027, and for supporting our organization – “Yes to Baseball”.
Finally, thank you to the Miller Express Board – Cory Olafson, James Gallo, Corey Mohr, Michael Hunt, Stella Klein, and Hannah Kovacs and their families. These six families do a lot throughout the summer, and they do a lot all year round. They take 6-7 weeks off now and then will start planning for 2027 season in the Fall. They do it for the love of the game, the love of the community, and to create first class summer entertainment for all.
