For the second consecutive game, the Moose Jaw Miller Express were able to tack on 15 runs against the Brooks Bombers, as they won in dominating fashion once again, this time 15-8.

The offense on Wednesday night was spread out, with five Miller Express players recording at least one hit, and another five having a multi-hit night. Bobby Pokorney had himself a game going 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs.

Dawson Tweet continued his early season success, picking up a pair of hits and two RBIs. He currently leads the Western Canadian Baseball League with a .487 batting average.

Wednesday’s win wrapped up a six-game Alberta road trip that saw Moose Jaw finish with a 3-3 record.

Brooks was able to get Millers’ starter Cameron Dunn in the first inning, as they crossed the plate four times to take an early 4-0 lead.

Moose Jaw quickly responded with a four-run inning of their own in the top of the second.

Andrew Rantz would get the offense going, as he would drive home Cristian Yanez from third with a one-out single. Julio Acosta would follow that up with an RBI single of his own to cut the lead to 4-2.

Back-to-back two-out singles by Chaz Poppy and Austin Gurney would each score a run and just like that the game was tied 4-4.

Dunn would settle in. following that first inning, pitching five innings, allowing five runs on six hits, and striking out four in the no-decision.

Moose Jaw and Brooks would trade runs in the fifth inning to make the score 5-5.

The Miller Express would slowly pull away in the final four innings, adding a combined 10 runs in that span, while only giving up three to wrap up their road trip with a 15-8 win.

That was the fourth and final time Moose Jaw and Brooks will face off this regular season. They finished the season series with a 3-1 record.

Zach Sigmon, in relief, would earn the win, pitching two innings, and allowing only one run, while striking out two.

The win improved their record to 13-7 and extended their winning streak to three games. Moose Jaw remains in first place in the WCBL’s East Division with a three-game lead over the Regina Red Sox.

The Miller Express will return to Ross Wells Park for the first time in over a week on Friday night, as they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks at 7:05 p.m.
